Here we are approaching the Golden Gate Bridge, as we map the bay floor with the multibeam sonar system. Now let’s continue our survey by having the ship go back and forth between the limits of our survey for the next 9 days in order to build a map composed of many swaths, nearly a hundred of them - here is the result of our hard work after 9 days on the bay.

The result is a mosaic composed of many swaths of seafloor mapping data, when viewed together give a detailed picture of the bay floor in the region of our study.
